Modern office
for teamwork
“
None of us is as smart as all of us” – said famous American coach and
entrepreneur Kenneth Blanchard about teamwork. It’s difficult to deny him,
knowing that the greatest inventions of the last century – in terms of both
material and intellectual, are the result of the exchange of experiences
among people with different knowledge and skills
A study conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have shown, what
is the real value of the exchange of thoughts and ideas among employees for the com-
pany in which they work. It turned out that the direct interaction is not only the most
effective way to develop new ideas (80% of the most perspective projects are created
during team meetings), but also to learn (about 70% of knowledge about the company is
gained from colleagues). It’s so simple that even hard to believe, so at this point usually
comes reflection – well, and how much does it cost? An open mind and good intentions,
because this potential exists in every company and organization. You just need to create
the appropriate conditions to give it a chance to grow. Based on this assumption Austrian
company Bene, the European leader of innovative concepts for offices, has developed
a new, holistic idea of workplace, which in terms of design and functionality resembles
our living space. And like in everyday life, the most important part of this office are spaces
for interaction and teamwork.
Working on a teamwork
Employees of modern offices are used to share a bunch of corporate resources – kitchen,
meeting rooms and equipment. However it’s not so easy for them to share what’s the most
important from the company’s point of view – knowledge. The most valuable resources in
the XXI century are in fact information, thought, idea. Nowadays new projects and start-

ups don’t often need a developed infrastructure and with different types of funds or crowd-
funding, even the financial part of the project is not so difficult. But the main condition is
always the original and timeless idea. The more people with different points of view and
offices foster the exchange of ideas, the greater the chance that this breakthrough project
will develop in our company.
In 1984, Alex Gibson, a New York advertising specialist published the book “Your Creative
Power”, in which for the first time presented a working method called “brainstorming”. As one
of the key determinants of its success, in addition to inoculate ideas, preparation and leader
of a project, he mentioned also the right place. The space in which the participants could sit
down together and connect the necessary equipment, which will consolidate the results of
their work. Sounds serious, but it does not have to be a spacious meeting room or a specially
dedicated area. A suitable location can be arranged even in a small office, what counts is the
