range of ready-made designs to choose from. Instead of smooth walls, you
can create a pleasant interior with the use of colourful veneers, which make
the office interior much warmer.
The green vertical
Green walls, or vertical structures from living plants, are an increasingly popu-
lar form of decorating walls in office interiors. Fully natural, they don’t dry out
thanks to appropriate water circulation and they please the employees’ eyes
all year long. Green walls come in different sizes and configurations: from little
wall ornaments, small elements on the ceilings, to projects that can fill, for ex-
ample, the reception space. Everything depends on the space that can be used
for creating decorations of this kind. A group of landscape architects and gar-
deners whose projects can be seen on zielone-sciany.pl can boast a large num-
ber of vertical structures in interiors. At the headquarters of Bausch&Lomb,
the greenery complements a white, rather ascetic yet warm office interior,
introducing an interesting visual effect. At Carpol from Grodzisk Mazowiecki,
vertical gardens appeared in the conference room – the designers from zielone-
sciany.pl created true oases there. And visitors to the European Investment
Center in Warsaw are welcomed in the reception by a large wall from living
plants. Such structures make an enormous impression and, importantly, per-
fectly fit both raw and minimalist interiors and those that are warm and full of
colours. What is more, plants muffle the noise and purify the air in the office.
From behind the wall
When the interior arrangement does not allow for decorating the walls, the
perfect solution can be found in acoustic partitions, which make an interesting
finishing addition. Colourful patterns will certainly enliven any interior, and they
are also very functional. Solutions like Silent Wall from Vitra make it possible to
separate a space in the office, while enriching it with colourful accents in the
furnishings. In turn, easy-to-move partitions are perfectly suited for temporary
interior rearrangements and creating, for example, a quiet place to work in
concentration. They separate an employee from the team and also facilitate
quiet, focused work without dividing the open space.
The workplace environment affects the wellbeing of employees, as well as
their level of fatigue, concentration, and consequently – productivity. Even
a small finishing element can often change the character of the office interior.
It makes sense, therefore, to utilize the often overlooked potential of walls and
turn them into an element that contributes to the productivity of employees.
